Vocals - Belle Hendrik was a pioneer of the soul/funk revival scene in Sydney in the 90's forming The Honeybees and Soul Kitchen, both big bands reproducing the sounds of soul and funk vocal harmony groups. Her own music has taken her around the Globe playing bass and singing with her band The Rogue Gene who were finalists in the 2014 Chain Awards, the Australian blues music awards, for new talent of the year and releasing two CD’s along the way. Her passion for retro soul, funk, blues and swing music makes her a perfect fit for the Daddies. Her voice has been described as “Chili Chocolate Caramel with Bite!” From performing Big Band Swing Music at the infamous 100 Club in London to singing Jazz in Japanese nightclubs or laying down the blues at festivals and pubs and singing it up with dance band SOUL’D , her versatility is endless and her performances are unforgettable.
Mick Buckley
Vocals - Mick Buckley multi talented first found fame as the rockin' drummer for successful rock band The Radiators, recording platinum & gold selling albums and playing Concert Tours & Festivals worldwide. He fronted and was lead vocalist for Sydney outfits School for Scandal & the Big Heat. As one of Sydney's most popular piano bar players he toured the USA, playing residencies in Bourbon St, New Orleans, Nashville Tennessee and firing up for Smokey Robinson at the Common Ground Music Festival in Lansing Michigan. Some of Mick’s bands are The Radiators, Mud Crab Boogie, Harlem Shuffle, Hi Home I'm Honey, The Yee Haa Boys, Hughie & The Swing Thing, Rupert B, Richard Wilkins Band, The Swing & Lisa Hunt to name just a few. He has grown up listening to the big band swing of Frank Sinatra, Cab Calloway and Louie Jordan and unleashes his rhythmic vocal style on the big Daddies sound.
Luis Crista
Sound - Luis Cristia is the Cat’s Pajamas when it comes to live sound engineers, combining the love of music, acoustics, computers and electronics. Luis studied Sound Engineering at JMC Academy (1982), Architecture (acoustics) at the Sydney Institute of Technology and is also a qualified IT Tech. After years of working in the Sydney’s Pubs and Clubs for numerous bands, the WellSwung Daddies brings all his sound engineering skills and experience to create that distinguished Daddies big band sound.
Mark Bromley
Bass - Mark Bromley has been playing bass since 1985 when he joined The Maxwell Street Blues Band to feed himself while studying classical music at UNI. Since then he has played in orchestras, jazz bands, rock, pop and folk outfits on all sorts of string instruments with a myriad of Famous people.. He brings to the Daddies a solid groove and some serious walking lines on the upright bass.
